ESL video:improve your listening skills II
Hi guys,
You always ask me about ways of improving your listening skills on your own and I always tell you to see films in English, to listen to the BBC online, to travel abroad,etc...
Apart from all that, you have the Internet with loads of websites and blogs (like this one ;)),that help you improve all the skills.A fantastic website I came across last week is ESL VIDEOS.
In this website you´ll find a wide variety of videos with questions and transcripts so, if you don´t understand well, you can listen to it and read the transcript at the same time so you get used to the sounds of the words.
There are 4 levels: beginner, low intermediate, intermediate and high intermediate.
You can start to improve now!!2º Básico students click here: http://www.eslvideo.com/esl_video_quiz_low_intermediate.php?id=9644
1º de intermedio and AAEE students click here: http://www.eslvideo.com/esl_video_quiz_intermediate.php?id=8974
Hope you find it useful!!

BORROW VERSUS LEND
Hi everyone!Today´s post is about two easily confused verbs that we are going to study in unit 4 (intermediate students). These 2 verbs are Borrow and lend.
Borrow means to take something from someone, with permission and with the intention of giving it back. You usually say: I borrowed this pen drive from my sister.
On the other hand, you say lend to give something to someone, with the expectation that s/he will return it, as: can you lend me a pencil, please?
Functions and examples
1. We use borrow to say that we take something temporarily with the intention of returning it.
Can I borrow your car?
She borrowed $100 from her father.
2. We use lend to say that we give something temporarily with the intention of having it returned.
Can you lend me your car?
Her father lent her $100.
Her father lent $100 to his daughter
